Alumni Peter Suk (MBA '02) and Marco Carrucciu (MBA '01) reconnect at the beautiful Monarch Beach golf course in Orange County, California. Markus Kalina (MSFE '05), managing director at Atalo Capital in New York, New York, hosted eight second year Drucker MS financial engineering students at his office on Park Avenue. Mr. Kalina spent an hour discussing the financial services industry and helping the students understand how they will be applying their classroom knowledge in their future jobs on Wall Street. The Drucker students treated Mr. Kalina (third from right) to lunch at the Bryant Park Grill following his talk. This spring the Drucker School's San Francisco regional alumni group hosted its first event in the Bay Area. Alumni met at a local hot spot and caught up on careers and personal life. More than 20 alumni attended the event, which consisted of a presentation by Professor Yamawaki entitled "Designing the Future of Business Strategy" followed by dinner. Since 2009, the Drucker School has offered the course "Doing Business in Asia" in collaboration with CUHK Business School at Chinese University Hong Kong. This year 13 MBA and three executive management program students participated in the course. On January 11, Hong Kong-based Drucker alumni organized an informal dinner for the attendees. Drucker Chair in Management and Liberal Arts and Interim Dean of the Drucker School welcomes attendees to Drucker Day 2012 on the campus of the Claremont Graduate University. This year more than 200 alumni, current students and prospective students attended the day-long event, which focused on the theme of business and personal sustainability. The Office of Alumni Relations recently hosted 33 alumni and industry professionals at a panel discussion at Fast Start.studio in Irvine, California. Michael Sawitz, Fast Start's dynamic CEO and founder, discussed his motivation behind creating the firm's Accelerator Program, which works with start-up and early stage businesses and prepares them for launch.
